This video incorporates footage shot over the course of several seasons in the formats of 16mm, DV, Betacam and High-Definition. Our client’s objective was to have a three vignettes with the themes — Access, Events, Town — available for viewing and downloading on the Park City Chamber of Commerce website.

The fine job of cutting the videos and adding that intangible “zest” to an edit was done by Andy Wiebe, of Storyline Films. Connect to his link on the Affiliates page.

We have been creating video projects for Park City Chamber since 1999. They have been a great client and we can’t complain about all those skiing and mountain biking shoots! Much of this footage ends up in our stock footage library. Please see our stock footage links in the Affiliates page.

Our stock images have appeared in campaigns for Aveda, McDonald’s, General Electric, Chevrolet, Marriott Hotels, Park City Chamber of Commerce, Utah Tourism Council, to name a few. Here’s a taste of winter high-definition footage shot during the incredible 2008/2009 ski season – snowfall totals at Alta Ski Area would have reached a five-story building!

The images were shot in 720p on the Panasonic HVX200 HD Camera (true 100mbs HD). All models signed releases and hard copies of the releases are available. Our royalty-free, high-definition footage catalogue is managed Artbeats, the leading, royalty-free stock footage source (We thought we’d let them do what they do best (manage our footage, collect money). Stock Footage Market is a user-friendly database of our footage where inquiries and purchases are directed back to us.

And so begins our first leap into adventure documentary filmmaking –- yes, actual 16mm stock (Kodak 7245 50ASA to be exact). This 28-minute film was made way back in 1995 and went on to have a nice run on PBS stations around the country, syndication, The Outdoor Channel (now Versus), Northwest airlines, and it even sold a few hundred VHS copies – yes VHS! It even won Best Adventure Ski Film at the International Ski Film Festival. Most importantly, it was a great couple months getting my filmmaking chops down with friends and family who helped shoot it. DVD copies (and a few remaining VHS) can be purchased through the Pay Pal link below, or contact us directly.

It is currently airing on the Ski Channel, a VOD network (Video on Demand) currently available in 20 million homes nationally through COX, Brighthouse Networks, Time-Warner Cable, DirecTV, Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-Verse.

Purchase the program and pay through PayPal:

This business allows you to see some interesting things, people and places. Our experience is no exception. Here is our most recent demo reel – seven minutes of a twisting, turning plot.

There is no secret recipe to getting great footage. It’s partly about using the right equipment. And it’s partly about knowing how to use it… and about doing it all without falling down. Or getting a stain on the carpet. We’ve shot a variety of projects—from viral spots to full-on documentaries—and we’ve gone all over the globe to the shoot them. Our clients include Fortune 500 companies, advertising agencies, cable channels, networks, as well as production companies and government agencies…Pretty much everyone.

We even offer consulting services and production support, to help you get whatever you need to help to tell your story.

DP/Camera Operator Shawn Emery has experience operating Arriflex 16mm SB & SRII, Betacam, MiniDV, DVCAM, XDCAM, HD, HDV, P2, DVCPRO50, Varicam, and studio cameras. He is an expert skier with extensive winter sports credits and currently works as a photojournalist at KSL-5, the Salt Lake City, Utah NBC affiliate. Owner of HVX200 and DVX100 camera packages and Kinoflo lights.

Visit the “About Us” page for a PDF of his resume and more background information.
