This is one segment of several that I shot for the Sundance Channel’s “My Premiere” at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. My crew had amazing access to the filmmakers and venues during what was probably the most fun Sundance I can recall.

Park City Chamber of Commerce Website Vignettes Compilation

This video incorporates footage shot over the course of several seasons in the formats of 16mm, DV, Betacam and High-Definition. Our client’s objective was to have a three vignettes with the themes — Access, Events, Town — available for viewing and downloading on the Park City Chamber of Commerce website.

The fine job of cutting the videos and adding that intangible “zest” to an edit was done by Andy Wiebe, of Storyline Films. Connect to his link on the Affiliates page.

We have been creating video projects for Park City Chamber since 1999. They have been a great client and we can’t complain about all those skiing and mountain biking shoots! Much of this footage ends up in our stock footage library. Please see our stock footage links in the Affiliates page.

For nearly 20 years, we’ve been cataloguing the active outdoor life in Utah and the West—from the mountains to the deserts and everywhere in between.

Our stock images have appeared in campaigns for Aveda, McDonald’s, General Electric, Chevrolet, Marriott Hotels, Park City Chamber of Commerce, Utah Tourism Council, to name a few. Here’s a taste of winter high-definition footage shot during the incredible 2008/2009 ski season – snowfall totals at Alta Ski Area would have reached a five-story building!

The images were shot in 720p on the Panasonic HVX200 HD Camera (true 100mbs HD). All models signed releases and hard copies of the releases are available. Summer Skiing the Ring of Fire: An Epic Journey to the Pacific Northwest Volcanoes Preview

And so begins our first leap into adventure documentary filmmaking –- yes, actual 16mm stock (Kodak 7245 50ASA to be exact). This 28-minute film was made way back in 1995 and went on to have a nice run on PBS stations around the country, syndication, The Outdoor Channel (now Versus), Northwest airlines, and it even sold a few hundred VHS copies – yes VHS! It even won Best Adventure Ski Film at the International Ski Film Festival. Most importantly, it was a great couple months getting my filmmaking chops down with friends and family who helped shoot it. Or getting a stain on the carpet. We’ve shot a variety of projects—from viral spots to full-on documentaries—and we’ve gone all over the globe to the shoot them. The Greatest Snow on Earth: Utah’s Skiing Story Preview

The release of our second indie documentary was timed with Salt Lake City, Utah hosting the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. We’re biased of course, but it is a good watch that is worthy of an hour of your time. This aired on PBS, in syndication and sold a couple thousand copies around its release date.
